About Us:
The Defense Institute for Medical Operations (DIMO), part of the 711th Human Performance Wing’s U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), is a joint security cooperation school for which the Air Force is the implementing agent. Its purpose is to provide a jointly executed capability that permits and builds strong, resilient, comprehensive international partnerships through health education and training. DIMO utilizes subject matter experts to develop curriculum and teach courses in support of embassy country plans and combatant command lines of effort to achieve U.S. security cooperation and partnership building objectives.

Divisions/Units
Administration
DIMO’s Administration Division is responsible for the administration and management of program resources for all international and domestic programs. This division coordinates and manages security, logistics, training, finance and budget management, memorandums of agreements, manpower, contract management and IM/IT management.
 
Medical Programs
DIMO’s Medical Programs Division reviews, updates and develops the institute’s courses. Personnel in this division adapt programs to meet partner nation and combatant command goals, design and write courses emphasizing adult learning and evidence-based practices, and maintain current training aids and supplies. They also integrate cutting edge medical technology adaptable to host resources, as well as advise stakeholders on long-term capability building.
 
Mission Operations
DIMO’s Mission Operations Division coordinates, plans and executes international mobile training courses with several outside agencies, security cooperation officers, and also attaches units in support of the combatant command’s lines of effort and campaign plans. Personnel in this division also oversee/coordinate mobile team readiness, staffing and resources for mission execution from start to finish, as well as liaise with teams 24/7 during mission execution for assistance and support.
