American Chemical Society (ACS) Journals

American Institute of Physics (AIP) Journals
AIP promotes the advancement of physics and its application to human welfare. Its database covers physics, astronomy, and related fields. All AIP journals are available. Some are: AIP Conf. Proceedings, Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Journal of Chemical Physics, Physics of Fluids, and Physics of Plasmas.

We have access to all online APS journals, including all Physical Reviews back to 1893 via PROLA.

Chemical Abstracts
Librarians (only) have access via STN in the library - $$THE main index to all chemical research and related journals and conferences. It covers over 13 million documents, including all related journals, conference papers, patents, etc. Check with the Library for passwords to the Dialog version.

DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) database

IEEE Xplore
Provides full-text access to IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-US) and IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers-UK) transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings published since 1988 plus select content back to 1950, and all current IEEE Standards. Some of the most read titles covering electrical, electronics, and computer engineering and science.

THE leading index on physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computing and information technology, as well as manufacturing and production engineering.
Institute of Physics (IOP)
IOP is a leading international society established to promote the advancement and dissemination of physics. It publishes important journals such as: Journal of Physics (A-G); Combustion Theory and Modelling; Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering; Journal of Optics (A&B); Nanotechnology; Semiconductor Science and Technology; and Smart Materials and Structures. International Critical Tables of Numerical Data, Physics, Chemistry & Technology
This Knovel interactive database is a classic, and was originally published for the National Research Council in 7 volumes. Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS)
There are many free databases that provide complete MSDS's or summaries. A good list of them is at . One of the largest is http://www.msds.com/ but requires registration. A good smaller site with many common chemicals is the Cornell site at http://msds.ehs.cornell.edu/msdssrch.asp.

Royal Society of Chemistry
The Society is the leading organization in Europe for advancing the chemical sciences. Science Citation Index Expanded (part of the "Web of Science"). Provides access to current and retrospective cited references from the world's leading science and technical journals. AFRL coverage 1990 to present. Prepaid version available on AFIT computers in library - 1988 to present.
Science Direct
It is one of "the world's largest collection of science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information," and the library connects you to millions of scholarly articles available from 1995+. Includes all journals published by Elsevier, Academic Press, Pergamon, North-Holland and others.

Searches across 167 million science-specific Web pages including full-text journal sources like: BioMed Central, MEDLINE, Science Direct (Elsevier, Academic Press, etc.), Scitation (AIP, APS, ASME, SPIE, etc.), and the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics, as well as NASA reports, and various e-print and patent databases. Connects to millions of full-text subscription and free files.
Scitation
We have access to most of the journals published by the American Institute of Physics; American Physical Society; Acoustical Society of America; American Society of Mechanical Engineers; American Vacuum Society; International Centre for Diffraction Data; Laser Institute of America; and MAIK (the Russian Academy of Sciences). Many older issues are in the Library.
SPIE Digital Library (International Society for Optical Engineering)
SPIE covers nearly everything associated with optics and photonics technologies. The site contains the full-text of the Proceedings of the SPIE from 1998 to date, and all four SPIE journals covering biomedical optics, electronic imaging, microlithography, microfabrication, and microsystems, and optical engineering. For AFRL/SN there are over 12,000 papers on sensors, MEMs or target recognition; for AFRL/HE, over 6,700 on humans or displays; and for ML, over 17,300 on materials or composites.
SPIN (Searchable Physics Information Notices)
Can search over 80 physics journals, including Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics, Journal of Materials Research, Journal of the Optical Society of America, Journal of Vacuum Science, Physical Review, Physics of Fluids, Proceedings of SPIE, Semiconductors, Technical Physics, etc. Select “Search SPIN database.” We have links to many journals.
TEMS (Total Electronic Migration System)
Includes thousands of full-text reports from DoD sponsored Information Analysis Centers such as CBIAC (Chemical Warfare/Chemical & Biological Defense IAC), WSTIAC (Weapon System Technology Analysis Center) and AMPTIAC (Advanced Materials & Processes Technology IAC).
