The D'Azzo Research Library - Wright Patterson AFB

Resources Recommended for RY

Aerospace & High Technology Database (CSA)
THE aerospace database. If you search nothing else, you must search here! Contains abstracts from aeronautics, astronautics, and space sciences, and their supporting fields, 1962 to date. Covers all major aerospace journals, conference proceedings, NASA unclassified reports, and AIAA papers.

Aerospace & Radar Technology
Knovel interactive Reference books including: Introduction to Airborne Radar, Low-Angle Radar Land Clutter-Measurements and Empirical Models, Radar Design Principles-Signal Processing and the Environment, and the Radar Handbook.

AIAA Journals (American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics)
We have access to all AIAA journals from 1996+: AIAA Journal, Journal of Aircraft, Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics, Journal of Propulsion and Power, Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets and Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer. Older issues are in the Library.

AIAA Papers (American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics)
AIAA covers the design, development, testing, construction, and operation of air and space vehicles, with over 250,000 technical papers. We own all papers from 1963-2000 on microfiche, and from 1988 to date online.

DTIC (Defense Technical Information Center) database
https://www.dtic.mil/portal/site/dticol/ - Private DOAC version* THE source for technical reports written by DoD and their contractors. Includes many newer materials as full-text PDFs, including AFRL & AGARD reports, AFIT theses, and many older WADC reports. The library owns about a half million reports on microfiche as “AD” numbered documents. Note that most are NOT listed in our catalog. DTIC’s “Private” version indexes public and limited reports. *DoD and DoD contractors can register.

Engineering Index (i.e. Compendex)
THE most comprehensive engineering resource. Covers aerospace engineering; electronics and communications engineering; engineering management; mechanical engineering; nuclear technology; computers and data processing; and applied physics.

IEEE Xplore
Provides full-text access to IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers-US) and IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers-UK) transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings published since 1988 plus select content back to 1950, and all current IEEE Standards. Some of the most read titles covering electrical, electronics, and computer engineering and science.

Infrared Information Analysis Center (IRIA)
IRIA's mission is to collect, analyze, and disseminate information on infrared and electro-optical (IR/EO) technology with an emphasis on military applications. Some of the symposiums it manages are: Missile Defense Sensors, Active EO Sensors; Passive Sensors; Camouflage Concealment and Deception; National Symposium on Sensor & Data Fusion; Infrared Countermeasures; Battlefield Acoustics and Seismic Sensing; and the Tri-Service Radar conference. *IACs are DoD sponsored but charge for some services.

INSPEC
THE leading index on physics, electrical engineering, electronics, communications, control engineering, computing and information technology, as well as manufacturing and production engineering.

NASA Reports (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) -
Public reports only.* Indexes reports from various NASA centers. Many reports are full-text. We own thousands of these in microfiche and in paper, many of which are not in our catalog. We also can order many as PDF files or in paper. NTIS and Aerospace databases also index most of these reports. *See a Librarian for other NASA information.

National Technical Information Service (NTIS)
The public source of U.S. scientific, technical, ASC, Engineering, and business-related public information gathered from hundreds of government agencies and other organizations. Some links to full-text are available. There is a more complete Dialog version - $$

OpticsInfoBase - Optical Society of America
OSA promotes the generation, application and archiving of knowledge in optics and photonics worldwide. We have full-text access to OSA journals, 1995 to date, and the rest in paper.

Science Citation Index
Science Citation Index Expanded (part of the "Web of Science"). Provides access to current and retrospective cited references from the world's leading science and technical journals. AFRL coverage 1990 to present. Prepaid version available on AFIT computers in library - 1988 to present.

Science Direct
It is one of "the world's largest collection of science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information," and the library connects you to millions of scholarly articles available from 1995+. Includes all journals published by Elsevier, Academic Press, Pergamon, North-Holland and others.

SCIRUS
Searches across 167 million science-specific Web pages including full-text journal sources like: BioMed Central, MEDLINE, Science Direct (Elsevier, Academic Press, etc.), Scitation (AIP, APS, ASME, SPIE, etc.), and the Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics, as well as NASA reports, and various e-print and patent databases. Connects to millions of full-text subscription and free files.

Scitation
We have access to most of the journals published by the American Institute of Physics; American Physical Society; Acoustical Society of America; American Society of Mechanical Engineers; American Vacuum Society; International Centre for Diffraction Data; Laser Institute of America; and MAIK (the Russian Academy of Sciences). Many older issues are in the Library.

Semiconductors & Electronics
Knovel interactive Reference books including: Coating Materials for Electronic Applications, Electronics Reliability and Measurement Technology-Nondestructive Evaluation, Handbook of Semiconductor Silicon Technology, Handbook of Thin-Film Deposition Processes and Techniques, Handbook of VLSI Microlithography, Optical Sensors and Microsystems, Semiconductor Materials and Process Technology Handbook, and Sol-Gel Technology for Thin Films, Fibers, Preforms, Electronics and Specialty Shapes.

SENSIAC (Sensor Information Analysis Center) -
This DoD Information Analysis Center supports DoD's sensor communities. It is run by the Georgia Institute of Technology and co-sponsored by DTIC and the U. S. Army R&D & Engineering Command's Night Vision & Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD).

SPIE Digital Library (International Society for Optical Engineering)
SPIE covers nearly everything associated with optics and photonics technologies. The site contains the full-text of the Proceedings of the SPIE from 1998 to date, and all four SPIE journals covering biomedical optics, electronic imaging, microlithography, microfabrication, and microsystems, and optical engineering.
