Chief Master Sergeant ERIC S. PETERSON Chief Master Sergeant Eric S. Peterson is the Senior Enlisted Leader, United States Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He is the principal advisor to the Commander on all matters relating to readiness, morale, welfare, training, career progression and effective utilization of resources of 1,000 military and civilians. Chief Peterson provides leadership and oversight to premier institute for education and worldwide operational consultation in Aerospace and Operational Medicine. The school trains 5,000 Department of Defense, international, and civilian students each year, services 6,000 requests for expert consultation, provides clinical, radiation, environmental, and industrial laboratory services, and manages a 20 million dollar aerospace and operational medicine research portfolio. CMSgt Peterson entered the Air Force in December 2000, from Waynesville, Missouri. He initially joined as a C-130 Crew Chief and after serving just over five years in this position, Chief Peterson retrained into the Public Health career field, serving at a variety of bases prior to being selected as a First Sergeant and subsequently returning to the Public Health career field. Prior to his current position, he was the Senior Enlisted Leader, 380 Expeditionary Medical Squadron, Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. Chief Peterson has deployed five times in support of Operation’s SOUTHERN WATCH, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM, INHERENT RESOLVE, and SPARTAN SHIELD. Additionally, he supported Pacific Air Force by providing Public Health subject matter expertise during a PACIFIC ANGEL exercise with the Sri Lanka military.
