DAVID E. SHAHADY Mr. David E. Shahady, member of the government civilian corps, is the (Acting) Director of the Digital Capabilities Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for leading AFRL’s digital transformation to measurably accelerate the generation and delivery of adoption-ready science and technology through faster research, better decisions, streamlined transition, and low friction business operations. Mr. Shahady began his career as an active-duty officer supporting air combat training, robotics, anti-terrorism, explosive ordnance disposal, and airbase automation. In 2004, he entered federal civil service as a technology development engineer at the Air Force Research Laboratory. He has held numerous engineering and acquisition program management positions including the Deputy of Innovation and Rapid Reaction, Branch Chief of Intelligence Analyst Augmentation, and Director of the Air Force Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Program. David Shahady is also a colonel (retired) in the Air Force Reserves and was assigned as the Emergency Preparedness Liaison Officer to the State of Ohio for Air Combat Command, Air Force North, National Security and Emergency Preparedness.
