Chief Master Sergeant TIMOTHEY C. HODGIN

Chief Master Sgt. Timothey C. Hodgin is the Command Chief of the Air Force Research Laboratory, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. As the senior enlisted leader, he serves as the principal advisor to the AFRL Commander on matters concerning the readiness, professional development, and effective utilization of more than 6,500 Airmen and Guardians.
 
Chief Hodgin supports the execution of $3 billion in Air Force science and technology programs and an additional $3 billion in external research and development efforts. He helps lead a global workforce distributed across nine component technology directorates, the 711th Human Performance Wing and AFWERX.
 
Chief Hodgin enlisted in the Air Force in August 1998. Over the course of his career, he has served in multiple career fields including electrical systems, systems administration, sensor operations and intelligence analysis. His assignments have taken him to California, Hawaii, Nevada, South Korea, Alaska and Washington. As a sensor operator, he accumulated more than 1,500 combat flying hours and earned qualifications as both an instructor and flight evaluator.
 
He has served on command teams at the squadron, group and wing levels and has deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom, New Dawn, Enduring Freedom, Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector.
 
Prior to his current role, Chief Hodgin was the Command Chief of the 36th Wing at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam. In that position, he advised the commander on all matters affecting health, welfare, morale, training and readiness of more than 8,000 military and civilian personnel. He also collaborated with joint service leaders and civic officials across Joint Region Marianas to support air operations in the Pacific, theater security packages and other joint-force mission partners.
