Dr. Gregory J. Toussaint is the Deputy Director, 711th Human Performance Wing (711 HPW), Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. The 711 HPW advances human performance and integration for air, space, and cyberspace through research, education, consultation, and operational support. The Wing operates at nine geographically separated sites; the two major locations are: Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Wing's primary mission units are the Human Effectiveness Directorate and the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. The 711 HPW is comprised of more than 2,000 personnel encompassing more than 63 scientific, technical, and medical disciplines and executes an annual budget of more than $360 million.
Previously Dr. Toussaint served as the Development and Integration Engagement Lead for the Air Force Materiel Command Integrated Development Office (AFMC IDO), Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. In this role, he built relationships and lines of communication with the defense industrial base, the scientific and technical community, and the acquisition program offices. Working with AFMC IDO’s partners, he identified opportunities to integrate developing technologies and deliver capabilities aligned with the USAF desired force design.
Dr. Toussaint served as an active-duty Air Force officer for 20 years in developmental engineering positions. His assignments included research and development, acquisition program management, academic instruction, and technical intelligence. After retiring from active duty, he entered the civil service with the Department of the Air Force. He has over 17 years of service as a civilian in supervisory and technical positions at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
