Air Force Research Laboratory awards $950M contract for cyber capabilities Published June 13, 2022 AFRL Information Directorate ROME, N.Y. (AFRL) – -- The Air Force Research Laboratory’s Information Directorate has awarded a $950 million contract entitled Agile Cyber Technology 3, to five small businesses in support of rapid research, development and prototyping of cyber capabilities. The contract is aimed at delivering state-of-the-art technology to the nation’s cyber warfighters at a pace commensurate with the evolving demand of the cyber domain. “In working with scientists and engineers charged with the development of our nation’s cyber capabilities, as well as operational personnel throughout the military and intelligence communities charged with operating in the cyber domain, it has become apparent that mechanisms are needed to expedite the maturation and fielding of state-of-the-art cyber technology,” said Thomas Parisi, AFRL program manager. In 2012, AFRL awarded the original Agile Cyber Technology contract which fielded approximately $500 million of cyber technology to multiple agencies across the Department of Defense. AFRL awarded ACT2 in 2018 with $900 million worth of technology fielded to date. “Agile Cyber Technology 3 is the result of the combined success of both efforts, and an increasing demand signal from operational units to continue the rapid development, enhancement and fielding of cyber capabilities at the speed of need,” said Tanya Macrina, AFRL program manager. Agile Cyber Technology 3 will be managed out of AFRL’s Information Directorate and performance will be executed at various industrial, academic and government facilities throughout the country. The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract has an ordering period of five years, in which new individual projects under the scope of the overall effort can begin, with a period of performance potentially spanning into 2032. The contract awardees are Assured Information Security, CNF Technologies, Global InfoTek, Invictus International Consulting and Radiance Technologies.
